Copyright and Licensing
The operative ZAHRA OJS Copyright Notice states that authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
Current OJS copyright notice
The live submission page states that authors retain copyright, grant the journal the right of first publication, and license the published work under CC BY 4.0. This framework permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial reuse, when license conditions are satisfied.
Attribution requirements
- Give appropriate credit to the original authors and identify ZAHRA as the initial journal of publication.
- Provide a link to the license where appropriate and indicate material changes.
- Retain relevant notices and do not suggest endorsement by the original authors or publisher.
Author dissemination
The current OJS notice allows authors to enter into separate non-exclusive arrangements for dissemination of the journal’s published version, including repositories and later incorporation into books, provided that initial publication in ZAHRA is acknowledged. The notice also encourages authors to post their work online before and during the submission process.
Third-party content
A Creative Commons license on an article does not automatically place third-party photographs, figures, software, or datasets under the same license. Reuse of such material may require separate permission. Authors should identify excluded materials and provide attribution and permission documentation when needed.
