Abstract


Waste management is currently one of the factors that greatly affect a clean, comfortable and healthy environment if waste management is not carried out properly. When garbage is allowed to continue to accumulate, it can cause environmental pollution, and at this time humans still do not maintain cleanliness such as littering. So in this case the author designed a waste basket tool based on the Arduino Uno Microcontroller which can find out the contents of the garbage in the waste basket by using an ultrasonic sensor that can read the contents of the waste basket with a distance of 10 cm from the sensor. This can help to reduce the accumulation of garbage in the waste basket, and the sensor will detect the contents in the waste basket and the buzzer will sound when the garbage has reached 10 cm from the sensor and the waste basket will close automatically so that garbage is not thrown into the trash again. The design of this tool can help the community or people in reducing the accumulation of waste in the waste basket.
