Author Guidelines

Bulletin Big Data, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence | e-ISSN 2830-7984

Authors must prepare original manuscripts that meet the journal’s published submission requirements. This page presents the currently applicable OJS instructions in English and separately explains technical specifications appearing in the supplied Article Template V2.

1. Eligibility, language, and submission

  1. The manuscript must be original and must not have been published or be under simultaneous consideration by another scholarly journal.
  2. The currently published OJS guidelines accept manuscripts written in Indonesian or English.
  3. Contributions must relate to the journal’s areas of engineering, computing, informatics, big data, data science, or artificial intelligence, consistent with the Aims and Scope.
  4. Authors must submit online through the journal website. Registration for an online account is stated to be free.

2. Length, paper size, and original OJS layout

ElementRequirement currently displayed on the OJS website
Article length 7–10 A4 pages including figures and tables; without an appendix.
Manuscript file Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) is specified in the main author instructions.
Page margins Top 2.7 cm; left 2.54 cm; right 1 cm; bottom 1.75 cm.
Main body One column, Times New Roman 10 pt, single spacing, justified.

Abstract English abstract of at least 200 words, plus Indonesian abstract/“Intisari” under the existing website instructions.

3. Manuscript organization

The main manuscript should present an Introduction, Method or Research Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion, followed by References. Results and Discussion may be combined or separated. Acknowledgments may be added where applicable. The introduction should clarify the research question and context; methods should make the study interpretable; results should report the evidence; discussion should explain significance and limitations; and the conclusion should follow from the findings.

4. Figures, tables, and equations

  • Number figures and tables in sequence, cite each one in the text, and keep it close to the relevant discussion.
  • Place figure captions below figures. Follow the prescribed Times-style journal formatting and keep graphics legible.
  • Use an equation editor for mathematical expressions, define symbols, and number equations sequentially.
  • Use the official template for header, footer, pagination, and article metadata.

5. Citations and reference quality

The current OJS guidelines require IEEE-style numbered citations ([1], [2], …) and recommend reference-management software such as Mendeley. The website specifies a minimum of 10 references; it also states a target of 80% recent primary literature (within five years) and 20% secondary literature (within ten years). Non-scholarly sources such as Wikipedia or personal blogs are not acceptable in place of research evidence.

6. Word Article Template V2: additional formatting specification

The Article Template V2 uses a single-column Times layout with a 20 pt sentence-case title, 11 pt bold author names, an English abstract of 200–400 words, 3–5 keywords, and an expectation of at least 30 international references, primarily including at least 80% Scopus-indexed journal articles. It identifies the same article sections and IEEE-style numbered references.

7. Submission preparation checklist

  • The title, abstract, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references are complete and accurate.
  • All named authors have approved the manuscript; affiliations, corresponding email, and metadata are correct.
  • Figures and tables are original or appropriately attributed; necessary permissions are available.
  • References can be located and support the statements for which they are cited.
  • The manuscript has been checked for duplicate publication, inappropriate overlap, and research integrity issues.
  • Any relevant datasets, software, funding sources, ethical approvals, or limitations have been described.

8. Where to submit

Create or access your account through User Registration or Journal Login. Read Online Submission before initiating a submission.
