Abstract


A decision support system is a system that can solve problems that occur in ranking quickly and can find out the highest to lowest scores in a selection. In the process of selecting contraceptives for couples of childbearing age, various criteria are assessed (multi-criteria) by applying the MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis) method. The MOORA method is a method that has very simple calculations. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge in the selection of contraceptives in couples of childbearing age in Dolok Kahean Village. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the Multi-Objective Optimization on The Basic of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method can be applied in the selection of contraceptives for couples of childbearing age that are suitable to suit their needs by using 6 assessment criteria, namely: Price (C1), Health (C2), Age (C3), Menstrual History (C4), Success Effect (C5), User Term (C6) and 6 alternatives, namely MOP (A1), IUD (A2), Implant (A3), Injection (A4), Pills (A5), Condoms (A6). The results obtained from the research conducted, that the MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization on The Basic of Ratio Analysis) method can select alternatives and rank in making recommendations for contraceptives that are suitable to suit their needs based on predetermined criteria where alternative pills ( A5) as contraceptives for couples of childbearing age that are suitable according to their needs are those with the highest Yi (max) value of 0.2946.
